Eugene
Tucker, CPP, CFE, CBCP, CHST has extensive international experience as a corporate manager,
inves
tigator, trainer and consultant in security, safety, and business
continuity planning. He is the coauthor of the second and third edition of
"Risk Analysis and the Security Survey" (recognized as a primary
source text in the security field). He
has completed numerous security vulnerability assessments for Fortune 500
companies as well as for major California water and wastewater districts.
His article on security training (Security Management Magazine, July
1990) was acclaimed as a "substantial first step in developing productive
relationships between vocational schools and the security industry." He
composed the chapter on Business Continuity Planning for the J.J. Keller &
Associates Risk Management Assessment Tools Manual and is quoted extensively in
Security Management’s October 2000 article on Crisis Management. He also
contributed material to the third edition of the ASIS Professional Practices
book and the third edition of the Encyclopedia of Security Management. Mr.
Tucker lectures extensively on subjects that include risk and security
management, workplace violence, emergency preparedness, business impact analysis
and business continuity planning. He has appeared on CBS news as a
security expert and was the coordinator of the Emergency Management seminar
program at Santa Clara University. Butterworth - Heinemann, the
primary security industry publisher, engages Mr. Tucker as a pre-publication
peer review expert for CCTV and Computer Forensics subjects.
He has written and helped to implement over 100 comprehensive emergency response, business continuity, crisis management and management succession plans. He designed the alarm system for a famous landmark, developed an intelligence program that tracked the plans and activities of dissident groups in the Bay Area and completed a terrorism assessment and security program for the nation's second largest winery. He was commended by the City of Berkeley, CA for his protection of a large biotechnology site during an animal rights / environmental group protest and was a lead investigator for the Bay Area's first major high technology theft conviction. As the Associate Manager and IT Engineer for Clorox Services Company, he was responsible for the global rollout of their Business Continuity Planning and backup data center testing.
Mr. Tucker is a Certified Protection Professional, (CPP), with a specialty area in Disaster Planning issued by the American Society for Industrial Security, a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), a Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP) and a Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST - the highest level of certification in construction safety, issued by the Council on Certification of Health, Environmental and Safety Technologists). He also holds a State of California Adult Education Teaching Credential. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Business Recovery Managers Association, and is an active member of the California Emergency Services Association, the National Fire Protection Association, the American Society for Industrial Security, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the High Technology Crime Investigation Association and the American Society of Safety Engineers.
